The Need

No Place To Call Home For Severely Wounded Heroes

the struggle

Housing That Doesn’t Meet Their Needs

Wounded heroes often return home from the hospital to find the simplest of tasks are now impossible. Though many choose to use prosthetics in their daily life, nearly all return to their wheelchairs once inside their home to reduce stress on their injuries. Narrow hallways, doorways, and treacherous bathrooms are just a few of the constant reminders of their limitations.

  1. Inaccessible Bathrooms

High thresholds, tight spaces, and wet surfaces make the most private and intimate tasks impossible to do alone.

  2. Unusable Kitchens & Storage

With sinks, ovens, and cabinets just beyond reach from their wheelchair, our heroes lose the most basic act of self sufficiency—feeding themselves.

  3. Narrow Doorways & Hallways

Many heroes live in homes with rooms and hallways too narrow to safely maneuver their wheelchairs, cutting them off from their family and friends.

  4. Stairs & Inaccessible Areas

Simple tasks like tucking their kids into bed are impossible due to inaccessible areas, affecting their mental and emotional health.

Our Custom Homes Are Life-Changing For The Whole Family

A New Beginning

The road to recovery is a lifelong journey, so every home is customized to each hero's current needs and how their injuries will continue to affect them as they age. The independence gained from their custom home allows each hero the opportunity to fulfill new dreams.

more than a house

Forever Home

Easing their daily burdens helps our heroes thrive and allows the entire family to truly enjoy life at home. Whether they’re participating more fully in their family life, cooking for friends, or simply beginning the day with a shower without assistance—the doors to their home open to a fresh start.

  1. Automated Features & Smart Technology

Each hero receives an iPad to their home. They can turn on lights, change the temperature, open shades, and more with the touch of a button.

  2. Extra-Wide Doorways & Hallways

These important accommodations make it possible for wheelchairs to rotate 360 degrees, ensuring that every inch of the home is accessible to our heroes.

  3. Accessible Bathrooms

Extra wide showers, wheelchair accessible sinks, and special customizations ensure our heroes can maneuver safely and perform their daily hygiene independently.

  4. Mobility Considerations In Every Room

Pulldown cabinetry, stair lifts, and seamless flooring between rooms provide full mobility throughout the home, including transitions to outdoor spaces.
